Detroit Part 1

On Saturday Dan and I decided to drive from Hastings to Detroit as it was just over 2 hours away. We started the day out in Greenfield Village in Dearborn, just outside the city. Greenfield Village was created by Henry Ford and is amazing. He moved or replicated different houses, farms, and old ways of doing things.

Rag time Street Fair
They also had a Rag Time Street fair on the main street. They had food, live music, and dancing. We bought some hobo bread and I got fresh lemonade. We also got pictures of Dan's favorite building, a courtroom from Illinois where Abraham Lincoln practiced law.

In the afternoon they play an old game of baseball...meaning they use rules from the 1800's. It was fun watching them play and they had Theodore Roosevelt throw the first pitch and give part of his campaign speech when he ran for the presidency.
