New Hair

I decided to get a hair cut a couple weeks ago. After too many weeks my hair needs to be layered other wise it gets too heavy. I LOVE my new cut :) And you can't see it in the picture but I have swoopy bangs.

Thai Food

For Dan's birthday I got him a Thai cook book and a couple weekends ago we tried out the recipes :) I made Pa-ngang and Dan made a Three flavor sauce for chicken. We had a lot of fun and they both turned out really good.

 All done!

My Pa-ngang was really spicy, my lips were tingling :) And Dan's chicken was really good, not quite like our favorite Thai place but close!

Weekends with Friends

During the first full weekend in March we got to spend the weekend with Jen and Dave, who came up from Indy. We had fun eating out and showing them The History Center downtown. It is where we had Sam and Emily's wedding last year but I never had a chance to really look through the Museum.

Checking out the Jail in the basement.

We had to go out for Hibachi which is always fun and they really enjoyed our church too. We also enjoy the time we get to spend together and already started planning a weekend to go see a baseball game.

The following weekend Aletheia and her boyfriend Craig came to visit too. We split the weekend with them because there were a few other people Aletheia wanted to introduce Craig to.

We had a good time with them eating Thai food and introducing them to DeBrand's chocolate. We also watched Sherlock since Craig had never seen it. We really enjoyed the weekend and were glad it worked out for them to come visit.

Chicago Part 2

One side of the upstairs exhibit is Transportation and on the other they have a really cool exhibit about weather.
Huge plans and Trains!
Simulated tornado
They let people play with air speed for the tornado and at certain points let a few kids in to experience the power of the air. It was really cool to see and all really well done.

Giant turning table showing erosion

Tesla's coil
Jenner loves the Coil, they do demonstrations with it. It is loud and huge! It was crazy seeing the bolts of energy.

Showing air pressure, you could float rubber balls
Near the end of our time we saw a movie about Normandy on D-Day, which was great, in their Omnimax Theater. The screen wraps around you which is crazy but really cool. While we waited we check out the space exhibit and got to see the Apollo 8 Capsule.

On the drive home we got another great view of the city and Dan had a can of pop explode in the car :) It was pretty funny watching.

We stopped in Naperville to visit our favorite candy store and picked up some fun deserts to have at home after we made homemade pizza.

Chicago Part 1

A couple weekends ago we went up to Chicago to visit one of my friends from College. We decided to spend the day at MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry). We also enjoyed playing with the cats :)

Driving into the city
At MOSI they have a really cool exhibit featuring the only German U-boat every captured during WWII. It surrendered off the coast of Africa because it was sinking. We (America) towed it across the Atlantic where we recovered an Enigma Machine (featured in the recent Movie "Imitation Game", which was good). The Museum had the Sub brought to Chicago and eventually built this exhibit for the Sub. The tickets to tour the inside were sold out but there was a lot of information around to read and still amazing to walk next to it.

They had blue lights to make it look like it was still in water

The actual Enigma machine recovered from the Sub.

A few of the other exhibits included these Conestoga wagons, which were huge! You sometimes don't realize the actual size of things until you stand next to them.

They also had bikes from different years set up, which was interesting to see.

Jenner and I met in our College Biology class so we had to check out the section on Genetics and watched a baby chick hatch out of his shell.

Moving my office around

Dan helped me earlier in Feb. to move my office around and hang up some new pictures. I have been meaning to do this for a while and it felt really good to make extra space for my kids to play.

New pictures from Dan, Samantha, and Rebecca

I had to re-arrange the next week again because I had to switch out my couch but it still is a nice open area so when I do play therapy the kids have plenty of room to pull out the toys.
