Hair Cut

I decided it was time to get my hair cut. It has been over 3 months and when my pony tail makes my head hurt because it is that heavy I am usually done with long hair.

 Before....
 and.....

 After!
I love it! It always helps when they put layers in, helps my hair not be too heavy.

Beth Moore Conference

In September my sister came down and we attended an all day conference by Beth Moore. I love Beth Moore Bible studies and was excited to see her live! The worship service was really up-lifting and her words were very inspiring and challenging.

We even had seats on the floor! It helped that there was only 2 of us as we tried to find a place to sit.

Rose Garden

One Sunday in September Dan and I went into the city to see the Rose Garden. I had heard about it but never been to see it. It was really beautiful outside and we enjoyed walking around and seeing all the flowers.

There were quite a few flowers still in bloom which was fun...they had a lot of different colors and kinds of roses.

The pond

This area is popular for weddings...and you can see why :)

We had a great time and were glad we got to spend an extra warm day outside in the fall weather.

Buffalo Tro

Dan is part of the Historical Society Board here and they do a fund raiser to raise money so kids can visit the History Center for Free. We had never gone before so it was fun to see what it was all about. They had a band playing, silent auction, and buffalo meat :) as part of dinner.

At the Treaty House

Fire Pit for cooking Buffalo...and yes, they just threw the meat onto the coals (it was very taste!)

The silent auction
We didn't stay too long but enjoyed the food and randomness it added to our evening.

Birthday

For my birthday this year we went up to Michigan so we could spend it with my sister and her family. We got to start the day by watching my nephew play football and my niece was one of the cheerleaders. It was so cute to watch the kids play and cheer.

 Titus is number 25 :)

Bundled up to stay warm :) I think it was in the 40's

Stephen is the one coaching the team so he was out on the field the whole time

After the game we went to Anderson and Girls to see the animals, get apple cider, and eat their yummy dough nuts. We got to see baby goats, baby bunnies, feed the birds, and howl with the Dingo's :)

Back at Stephen and Michelle's we had a quick lunch before I opened my gifts and we had cake.

My cake :) (which I LOVED)

After cake we got ready and did a double date with Stephen and Michelle. We went out for dinner and then went to see Left Behind. We had a great time :) Michelle even had time to give us a tour of her office which was interesting. On Sunday we had to head home after church and some rousing rounds of Dance competitions on the Wii :)

Henry's Star

Dan's sister is having another baby and every time they have a child we each get a wooden wall decoration to design. This time around it is a Star. So after much thought and pondering I decided to give the baby a taste of Michigan to hang on the wall :) I got sand and sea shells from Mackinaw City, MI. It is one of my favorite places and thought I could cover the star in sand and then add the shells on top.

Using Modge Podge to coat the shells and sand
All done!!
I LOVE how it turned out. Plus you can run your hands over it and feel the sand and shells with out any of it falling off! I can't wait to send it to get hung on the wall.
