Vacation- June 11th and 12th

On June 11th Stephen and Michelle took the kids to a water park so Dan and I took the day to do some hiking, reading, and relaxing. We enjoyed watching baseball games and had dinner ready for everyone when they got back. Stephen and Dan also played a game of Risk and we did a conference call to my dad to wish him Happy Birthday. We ended the night with Titus opening his Birthday gifts from  us because we won't see him on his birthday this year.

On Thursday we all went for a hike up the ski trails while Stephen had a conference call. It was a bit hazy out but we still had a good time.

 Later in the afternoon it cleared up and Michelle and I decided to hike up the hill behind our lodge...it was much steeper then what it looks.

Vacation- June 10th Part 2

For the rest of the day on Tuesday we headed up to Mackinaw City to spend the day. It was nice being in the city when very few people are around. When we are there for Labor Day you can barely find a parking spot. We ate pizza at our favorite place and then walked around the downtown and by the lake.

We drove out to McGulpin Point Lighthouse to show it to Stephen and Michelle. We had been there last fall and wanted to visit it again.

 My sister got some cool pictures inside the lighthouse of the stairs and some good shots of all the butterflies we saw on the Lilac Bushes.

We had a good time and were pretty tired from all the walking we did. We decided to use the evening to introduce Stephen and Michelle to the BBC's TV show Sherlock.

Vacation- June 10th Part 1

Our first day at the resort we got maps for all the hiking trails and went to check out the lake we could use. They had boats, kayaks, and canoes we could rent. We also found a huge pile of snow that is still working on melting.
