Lions Game

This past Thursday went had an opportunity to go to a preseason game. Dan and I had never been to Ford Field before so it was fun seeing a new stadium and see how excited Jessica was to be at an NFL game. Here are some pictures from the game:

Reds Game

After Conner Prairie we jumped in the car and went to Cincinnati. We stopped at a store to get Jessica a T-shirt for the game and eat Ice Cream at Grater's before going to the Stadium.

Jessica had a great time and was picking up the game really quickly. It was fun getting to watch her experience it for the first time and we hope to squeeze maybe one more game in this year.

Conner Prairie Part 2

One of the last weekends in August we took a trip back to Indy to see the rest of Conner prairie and take Jessica to a Red's game in Cincinnati. Jen and Dave had not been to Conner Prairie yet so we had fun taking them with us. We started in the "Civil War" era and learned about attacks that happened in Southern Indiana during that time. It was very interactive and fun.

We ran into a cart on the road to Prairie town, we had seen some of the town already but loved getting to interact with more of the "towns people".

Checking out the Corn
 Playing with Stilts

Making Candles
Petting the sheep or wanting the fan? :)
Learning about turning wool into thread
After the town we saw the Conner homestead that has been preserved and than headed to the Indiana Camping area that would have been first in the area.

First day of School and Medal Ball

On August 12th we sent Jessica off for her first day of school :) I made sure to take a picture that morning before she got on the bus.

Later that week we had Medal Ball with our Dance Studio. After completing our dancing, which was a type of test so we can start learning new dance steps, we had a fun dinner Downtown. We had fun chatting and dancing, as well as receiving our certificate.

Indy with Jessica

The first weekend of the State Fair we took Jessica down to Indy for the weekend. We stopped Friday night for dinner with Becky and Nate who just moved back from Massachusetts. We had a great time eating dinner together before we continued our drive to Indy. We were crashing at Jen's house which meant getting to hang out with Jen and Dave as well. On Saturday we had Waffles for Jessica to try for the first time before heading to the State Fair.

They had the Indy sign at the Fair so we got our pictures taken with it.

Before we left the Fair Jessica and Dan went on one of the rides.

After the Fair we went downtown to show Jessica around. They had a huge Bike rally going on which was fun to watch and we got Hot Chocolate from the South Bend Chocolate Company. We finished off the evening watching movies and talking. On Sunday after church we headed to Conner Prairie, we didn't have a lot of time so we will be going back. We went through the part called Prairie town and got to see different artisans at work.
