Texas, Part 2

On Friday Samantha had Preschool so we went to the Heard Museum with Becca and Henry till we met up with Kenneth for lunch.

Becca as an Owl
At the museum they have animals that have been rescued and a little village for kids to play in. Here are a few picture of the animals we saw before hiking one of the trails.

It felt good to get out and walk. It was nice and warm and the mosquitoes weren't too bad if we kept walking. After lunch we headed home and watched Becca and Henry while Karie got a quick run in and Kenneth picked Samantha up from school. We also took time to play out side for a little while until dinner.

For dinner Kenneth and Karie took us to a high end Stake House in Plano called Bob's. It was really good! Their cream corn and mac and cheese was amazing! We had such a great time getting to spend a meal with just Kenneth and Karie.

Texas, Part 1

At the end of April, Dan and I got on a plane and flew to Texas to visit Kari and Kenneth. We have been so excited to visit since it was the first time we got to meet Henry. We had an early morning flight (6 am) so our first stop was at one of our favorite places...and yes we had hamburgers for breakfast.

Hello old friend
Once we got to the house, we were welcomed by Becca and Samantha. We then had everyone open their birthday gifts. We had brought down the kid's birthday gifts and Kenneth's. Everyone seemed to really enjoy what we got for them.

Graduation

The last full weekend in April was Graduation. Dan and I knew a few friends and one family member who would be walking so we headed down to Marion Friday night. We had dinner with friends and then met up with my cousins Steve and Freda to celebrate their son Scott's graduation. We also got to see their daughter Jen and her husband Billy who I haven't gotten to see in a few years.

Our whole group enjoying free deserts!
After we left from getting desert with the Lerman clan we went back to our friend's house to spend the night. We had a chance to chat for a while before we were all too tired to stay up. In the morning we had a little bit of time to hang out while we got ready for Graduation. We didn't get to sit in the main area but at a satellite location, which works out fine when you have an 18 month old to entertain. She did really well and I had to get a few pictures of her sharing her Cheerios's with Dan.

Alive

Near the end of April I went to a Woman's Conference in Nashville called Alive. It was an amazing experience. I got to see and re-connect with women I went to college with, lead on teams in Cambodia, from my hometown, and other random connects. I went to help offer free counseling and prayer and feel truly blessed to be a part of this ministry. We had great speakers, amazing music, and words of truth. I got to know a few women from Michelle's church since I caught a ride down with them. We had a great trip down and back.

The main stage

They had these really cool "stations" set up around the conference area. This one was for giving praise and prayer, one was a mirror with headphones to listen to words of truth about who we are as women, another one was for writing down how or why you came.

Ginny Owens performed for us
If you haven't heard of Ginny Owens, check her out. I like how real her music is and she is very talented. I was excited that I got to hear her live.

Bianca, one of our main speakers.
Bianca was a really good speaker, funny, engaging, and very good message. We really enjoying getting to hear her speak multiple times over the weekend.

Michelle and me

Michelle's group from her church, Michelle, Ashley, Tara, Sharon, Caroline
These ladies were amazing, they made me feel like I was part of their group and we had a really great time together.
