Tahquamenon Falls and Soo Locks

On Saturday Dan and I headed into the Upper Peninsula with my parents to see the Falls and if any boats were going through the Locks. First we stopped at the lower falls for Tahquamenon:

Lower Falls
After the lower falls we went to see the upper falls, which are higher and a bit more powerful.

Once we finished up with the falls we stopped back in town to find a place to head out to the Lake. We found a community center and went down to the beach to fade into Lake Superior.

Our final leg of the trip was going to the Soo Locks were you can watch boats having to pass from either Lake Huron or Superior into the other lake, there is a big difference in the water level so they built the locks to keep ships moving.

Canada or the Locks :)

Superior is on the left and Huron is on the right, Superior is a lot higher than Huron

After the boat is in the lock they open vales to let the water equalize and the boat begins to rise.
