This seems like a simple task or so I thought. Into the market I plunged walking through the aisles of bright clothing and festive fabrics. They had shirts that would tell people I “heart” Cambodia and other various designs; but if they did have anything in the color I needed they didn’t have it in my size. I finally found a shirt I liked and it looked like it would fit. When I inquired to the seller aboutthe size she seemed to barely register my presence and told me quite bluntly it was too small and as I asked again if I could try it to see if that was the case, she very plainly said I was too big and she did not have that size. Wow…talk about customer service! I have never seen a seller act like this. I even had a seller
previous to this one who tried telling me that a shirt would shrink so it would fit me. I did finally manage to find a shirt that I could wear, I liked, and the correct color.
Next came getting my nails painted in Orange, with glitter :)
I bought a shirt for $5 that was too hard to resist.
I even got my picture taken with the "Queen"
We had silly games such as trying to put a nail into a pop bottle and other games for the kids.
The best part of spending time with people from Holland is that we all like free stuff and try to get a good deal. All the food was free or $1...I can handle that! They even had Orange beer compliments of Heineken, which I learned is a Dutch Beer company.
All and all it was a very fun afternoon and I even bought a few children books in Dutch. I think my family needs to start celebrating the Queen's birthday when I get home;)
